New Gameshark makes PS2 an all region player?!?!?!?

This was posted on the Gameshark site. Has anyone heard about, or better yet, had success with this method of turning your PS2 into an all region player???

"The GS2 v2 can play DVD movies from any region on a US PlayStation 2"

So what is the verdict here? Has anyone here tried it? By the way, I clicked on the link in the second post by marcandmag and when I was at that site my mouse arrow would flicker off and on over the side of that page. Did this happen to anyone else? And what does that mean?

As far as I know there is no PAL conversion available in US PS2 machines so this feature would be pretty pointless if you have an NTSC display.

Of course if I'm wrong please let me know.

the website shows a picture saying regions 1-6 can be used on the ps2 using the gameshark 2, but says nothing about pal or not.

I've seen the software that it uses, "Region X" while I was in Britain a few months ago. It works on the ps2's over there and can convert ntsc movies into pal, so perhaps it can convert the pal into ntsc over here. So I guess there is some hope at least.

Hey, do you think it'll be possible to get rid of the Region coding for X-Boxed once the Gameshark comes out for it?? Since you know, the X-Box decodes PAL perfectly, but can only play Region 0 and 1 DVDs.

Is there any way to play other region dvds on a u.s. ps2 with older game sharks? There was a rumour that you could, but don't know if it was true or not. Thanks!
