2 Coaxial DD sources into 1 input...

Is it possible to connect 2 coaxial DD sources into 1 input on my receiver (i only have 1...no optical ) using a standard "Y" adapter or is something special needed? I of course would only be using 1 source at a time...

Better to use a switcher.

Thanks for the reply,

Will any normal A/V switcher work? Running through which connection, L R or Video?

The reason I'm asking this instead of just trying it out myself is I'm waiting to find out if it can be done before I spend money to buy a Optical to Coaxial converter for another source that only has optical out.

You could try a switcher. It should work, but I've never done it. All you're doing is introducing a switch, a couple of connections, and some wire into the equation. Not the best thing in the world, but it's only lowrate bits.

It probably doesn't matter, but the video connectors theoretically would be the right impedance if they bothered with that in the switch.

Thanks X, I guess I'll give it a shot.
