Advice need on Harman Kardon receivers

Thanks to another thread, I have decided to look at the lower end Harman Kardon units for my home theater needs. They seem to be the most accessable as far as discounts/open box/etc. After looking for a few days, here are my choices:

I can get a new AVR 220 or an open box AVR 310. I was really looking for ProLogic II, since I tend to watch a lot of television and have a lot of VHS movies (just got a DVD player). According to the post mentioned above, Logic7 is just as good if not better than DPLII. Can anyone who's heard them both confirm or deny this? If it is just as good, I'll go with the 310 because it's cheaper, is apparently a step up (minus a few new features) and is available at my local Circuit City with a full manufacturer's warranty vs. ordering from across the country (I'm worried about warranty issues with HK, but this is the cheapest I've found it).

In case more information helps you give an answer:
(a) I have a crappy Daewoo TV which I can't afford to upgrade now (I refuse to buy another TV the same size as the one I already have and. . .)
(b) my apartment living room is not small, but in an L shape so that I'm sitting only seven or eight feet from the TV most of the time (so power is not an issue for me).
(c) I can't afford anything more expensive, so please don't recommend the Denon 2802! :-) I'm already over the old $300 budget (was going to buy the Onkyo 494).
(d) My speakers are two-day-old JBL NSP-1s and the DLS 10 sub (which sounds fantastic so far, especially for $100!).

Any input would be great. Thanks!
