TV choice? Opinions please.

Looking to drop 2k$ US or so on a HDTV. Right now I have looked around and like these two models..

Panasonic PT-47WX49

Sony KP-51HW40
http://www.cameratopia.com/products....ngine=dealtime

The Panasonic has had some decent reviews and at 1599$ its one of the cheapest projection HDTV's out there. On the other hand for 400$ more I can get a Sony 51" that has a bit bigger picture and less widescreened (more tv than dvd) and what I think is a superior picture for 2074$ US. This is all done through Sears pricematching and confirmed these prices this morning.

Any thoughts? Anyone seen any lower prices? Right now I am leaning towards the Sony, but the PIP that the Panasonic has is nice, and apparently the Panasonic's picture can be finely tuned as seen at www.panny.tv

Thanks in advance.

I've had the Panny since November and love it, the only annoyance was that I didn't until recently realize that I could skip the unused inputs (there are a lot of inputs and I only use 2 or 3)

There is a pretty good site out there dedicated to this set pannytv.com and they offer a lot of good tweaks and guidance on getting the best picture more or less out of the box. Have not had any trouble with the set since i bought it and have only needed to adjust the pic once since the intital out of the box calibration I did.

The screen is also small enough that a progessive scan player is not a must have upgrade so you can use your current equipment till your ready to upgrade w/o worries. :)
