IMHO, while money can buy a nice system there are other factors.

A good room layout with controlled lighting is nice to have.

Don't get too hung up on trying to compare or compete, just work with what you can and prepare for the inevitable upgrade.

Also, do you have a TV? Not sure I would call it a home theater without one.

Well I think you are not doing badly considering your age. A new TV would be a good move when you can save the money.

I too am jealous of the people here with tons of money to spend on their HT systems. Of course, they all work hard for that money, so more power to them.

Oh, ok

Isn't there an expression "In My Honest Opinion"?

I guess it's better to be humble than honest anyway.

It is not necessarily money. You must also remember some of are a little older than others.

I have been purchasing and enjoying high end audio equipment for more than 20 years!

When I was 19 I didn't even have my own TV or VCR let alone a HT system. I was a poor college student.

If you've earned the money to pay for your system at that age you should be proud of what you've got.

Don't get me wrong. Like others have said, you have an adequate setup considering your age.

Personally, I think the minimum size TV for an HT should be 27-32". Watching widescreen on a 19" has to be tuff considering you have the speakers and receiver to enjoy 5.1 audio.

Until you can upgrade, enjoy what you have. I didn't have a dedicated HT until I recently converted my basement. After I sold my huge comic book/sports card collection, my wife finally gave me the green light to shop for my HT. I dropped $35K into building materials & equip. upgrades. BTW, I'm 38 years old.

The key is knowing where to buy. I think I have about $1500 in my system, because I am always trading and upgrading I am not sure the exact cost. I have a 32" Wega, Technics receiver, JVC 3-DVD Changer, RCA 5 CD Changer, some VCR crap, Aiwa 10" sub, Audiofile tower speakers in front and Yamaha in rear. My center channel sucks, so I refuse to include it, lol. I am looking for one if someone needs some other stuff.
