When do new models come out...
 

Subject says it all. Do companies release new products at the first of the year after the Xmas rush has cut down on inventory some? Do different brand's products come out at different times? Do last years models for TV's and receivers usually go on sale right before the new year's models come out?

I guess I'm asking if 2002 models are out now. I've noticed that some of the newer things like Pro Logic II are only on the higher end models. Will they come out on lower end models too? When? Are there release dates on home theater hardware?

At least with respect to DPL II, several brands offer low end models with it. Check out the Onkyo 494 and the Denon 1602.

Yeah, but Denon and Onkyo are pretty expensive brands. When will more affordable brands come out with DP II standard on all units and replace DP "I"?
