Any tweak freaks out there?

I am a member of www.panny.tv and most of us are freaks when it comes to perfection in our televisions. How many of you folks are like this, too?

You know who you are! If you answer "yes" to any of the following:

- I have printed out the service technician manual(s) for my TV
- I know the codes to get into the service menu by heart
- I have had nightmares about convergence grids
- I know more than 1 ISF in my town
- I know more than 3 sources that approximate D6500
- I bought a grey card from Kodak and I don't own a camera
- I read the service manual in the john sometimes
- I know what D6500 means
- I know where D6500 came from (clue: it's the color of a certain element when burned at 6500 degrees Kelvin)
- I laugh and shake my head when newbies ask why you should disable SVM
- I know what colors RGB guns can make when combined in pairs
- I can navigate AVIA faster than setting my alarm clock
- I know more than one place to buy Devetyne
- I could make an optical comparator if I had to from stuff at Radio Shack and Home Depot

To top it all of, when driving home from work today I was going by downtown Dallas and a building against the skyline caught my eye. I did a double-take, and could have sworn I saw the blue edge of the building's glass "blooming" against the sky.

Yeah, most of that stuff. However I have no ISF's in my town, but I know the ones in the area. Carbon is the element, and I haven't opened the set to line it. And I don't need a code, just a paper clip.

I haven't tweaked the grayscale, it's probably not all that necessary with my set and I figured I'd have an ISF do that anyway. Don't have nightmares or read service manuals in the john either. And isn't it Duvetyne?

Hey just in case you may not know Home Theater Spot is a great source for tweaks.

I have done a lot of tweaks on my Mits but I am afraid of doing the Duvetyne because I have read that it really brings out the edge enhancement on DVDs. Have you experienced this?

Yeah, I have read Chen's stuff at the Spot but there's really more info at panny.tv so far.

I hadn't heard about Duvetyne emphasizing EE but it makes sense. I have disabled SVM but not the software EE in my set so I have minimal edge enhancment to begin with. I have not lined my set yet, and will wait until warranty is done before heading out for some Duvey.

I have a 40" Mitsu tube, so I don't really need to tweak the video as much as you RPTV folk do so I only do it about twice a year!

I do fiddle with the speaker settings alot, mostly the settings for my subs
