Samsung SLK-407W - is it good?
 

I'm planning on buying a widescreen TV but I don't like the big projection HDTV since they're too bulky. Plasma TV is ideal but way too expensive. I've looked at the net and came across this tabletop Samsung SLK-407W LCD EDTV 40" which is just 13" "thick". Any feedback?

Just so you know EDTV is not HDTV. EDTV stands for Extended Def. Television. It will only give you 480P vs. 1080i. The set looks great but I don't really like the idea of it being EDTV.

Just my thoughts.

One other thing. But a tube TV. How much do you want to spend? You may want to look at the Sharp LCD TV's. They are HDTV all the way.

I've seen this unit and wasn't all that impressed.
