Panasonic DVD Player Lawsuit?

Did any of you other Pansonic DVD Player owners receive a claim form from a law firm that supposed to be representing Panasonic/JVC owners in a class-action suit regarding the many problems affecting the players?

I had a Panasonic 310A and suffered (yet again) freezing with the optical unit. Luckily I registered my product and kept all of the info.

After quickly scanning the claim info, it looks like they may be offering extended warrantees or claim reimbursements between $50 and $100 depending on the documentation you are able to provide.

Where did you get this info? I have a crappy JVC that died after just 6 months. There was suppose to be a class action suit but nothing happened.

I received four claim forms today!!!
I had the Panasonic K510, the karaoke version.

Thanks for the link. So I have the choice:
1) Receive reimbursement for expenses for repair up to $100.
I qualify for that.
2) Extended warranty. Don't need it anymore.
3) $50 rebate for purchase of a new product.
(Just bought the panasonic RP56 last week.)

Something I do not understand.
To get the $50 Rebate Certificate, you must show that
you REPLACED the DVD player at issue with a DVD player from another manufacturer.
It is a check or a certificate towards the purchase of another
Panasonic/JVC DVD player?
Because if already have REPLACED your DVD player, you don't really need to buy another do you?

Ha! Finally! Glad that they finally own up to the crappy design. Hope Pany get what they deserve by forcing many users to pay for the *****ty customer service and overprice parts and labor service.

This definately deserve a bump up.

My A310's giving out--Wish it would die completely

Die A310, Die!

Well, I picked up a Toshiba SD3750 and installed it into the HT, moved the Toshiba SD2200 to the bedroom where the Pany A310 was quickly dispatched.

The A310 only worked for about 3 months after it being repaired the first time. For the past year, performance has been going steadily downhill ever since where it would freeze up on EVERY DVD within the first 15 minutes of hitting the play button.

Happy the way things turned out I guess. Hope this whole lawsuit works out for the consumer.

I shelved my A310 at least a year ago after I decided it wasn't worth repairing since other owners complained about multiple optical units freeze-ups. Hopefully I can get the extended warranty and use it as a bedroom player. That option didn't specifically ask for the invoice so I didn't send it. Mistake?
