Modifying a Sony SA-WM40

I heard of people modifying there sony sa-wm40's and I was wondering if anyone here has done it. If so, what is the process involved, does anyone have a tutorial with pics? How much better does it actually sound? Thanks!

i'm interested in doing this as well. the two modifications that i've heard of are spiking it and putting polyfill(?) inside. the first is just a matter of buying spikes and attaching them to the bottom of the casing. the second is more involved and i don't really know the process.

edited to add:
does anyone know a good place to get spikes for this sub?

Does spiking do anything other than keeping it in place?

Do a search over at HTF, they most likely have all the how to's, since this was discussed extensively there a while back.

Adding polyfill will "slow down" the waves in the cabinet making it act like a bigger enclosure. I'm sure you don't want to go with more than one pound of the stuff though!

Spiking it will raise it from the floor and keep it away from vibrations that cause distortion.
