I did it!! Panasonic 16:9 PT56WX51 56" for $1933!!

I was considering a Panasonic 47" PT47WX51 for about $1719 total with tax and shipping. But I went to Stereo Advantage in Buffalo (they have a website) and saw the 56" for $2800, on my way out I noticed it was on sale for $1999 !!! I thought it was a mistake. I asked the clerk and she went to check and said it was no mistake. Then, to top it off, they had a coupon for $100 off large screen TVs! Wow! Then I had a return from a door prize I won at the company xmas party for $118. They have free delivery, getting it tomorrow for a svelte $1933.31. Found this for $2300-2999 plus shipping on the net... sweet!

Bastage! Hope you enjoy it while I am stuck with my 47" set (see my setup in my signature). Congratulations BTW.

After you get the set, come on over and visit www.panny.tv which is dedicated to these televisions and tweaking them.

Yes, I am glad I didn't pull the trigger earlier this week when I was planning on getting it from Sears. I will check out your site, I did view it before when I was looking at the 47"....

It is even on their website for $2799 + $250 white glove!

Congrats man. You'll love the 16:9. I'm not that far from you and am willing to travel for movie night.

Yes, movie night! I have an annual superbowl party (of course its annual), now it will be better, even though its not in HDTV! I need to get a home theater setup and HDTV receiver now...I have an Apex 703 DVD player which is not progressive scan, I imagine as part of my home theater package, I will get a DVD player too..

Okay, now that I have it set up, I am pretty impressed. Watching the NFL right now, and I am digging the 16:9 picture.

There is a Justification, Zoom and Full mode in addition to the 4:3 mode. The Justification mode is not too bad, watching different feeds including my DVD it seems to be my favorite.

Now, I just need to get the HDTV receiver so I can take advantage of 1080!

Give it some break in time then set it up with Avia or Video Essentials. Don't forget to turn down the contrast right away though.

I will rent it to you for $800 for the weekend, it will be well worth it. Actually you could just ask to borrow it.

Okay, I think I would rather ask to borrow it, as $800 is a little steep after buying this monster! Where in Rochester are you?

I'm loosing track of all of the new models

Isn't that the set that will display, what is it, 720p natively? I have heard that people who cast aspersions at anything less than 1080i have never seen 720p properly displayed.

Congrats on the purchase. I'm certainly GLAD to see you went with a 16X9 HDTV instead of the picture in a BOX.

I have the Pioneer 610 Elite and love it! Wait until you get your HD receiver hooked up and see sports and TV shows in all their glory!
