Monster Power Reference Center??? Opinions??

How necessary is this equipment, such as the HTS 5000, etc?? I have about 5 thousand invested in equipment, and the cost of the Monster Power Center is a small percentage, but I wanted some opinions first.

Is something like this worth the money???

Thanks

I just picked up a HTS-3500 for my home theater system and don't know why I waited so long to purchase one. Although, don't pay full retail when you can pick them up on ebay for very reasonable prices and very trustworthy traders. Email me for more details. Purchasing off ebay will probably save you over $100 off retail and that includes shipping. Good luck.

I have the 2500 and it made a tremendous difference. I'd like to step up to the 5000 next.

hey guys, what kind of difference did it make. is it basically the same kind of difference when you add a 1.0 farad capacitor to your car stereo, which gives your amps more power all the time, which in turn makes everything louder. just curious myself since I was thinking about the 2500 and 3500. between the two, is there that much difference?

I noticed the difference in video firstly and with audio I'd say it "opened" up the sound stage a bit. It was rather a dramtic improvemnet on my system , however the reason may be bad power to begin with.

You could just get a UPS made for a computer which would cost a lot less and also offer a warranty against damage to your equipment...

Are these things worth it? I have the PowerProtect AV600...didn't know it made a difference if I got the 2500 or 5000...

These also work best on equipment that is on the higher end.....i doubt youll see a difference on a 27" set with a 1000.00 sound system.

Might want to look at the Panamax brand also.

I try to stay away from all Monster products:)

From what I've seen, the Monster Power Centers walk all over the comparably priced Panamax products in terms of surge protection and overall build quality. Lots of people love and recommend Panamax stuff; I just don't think they're priced competitively (even at their street prices). YMMV, of course.

Everyone has there favorites and I won't debate that. I wouldn't touch any Sony product either, but there are people who like their products:)

I didn't pay anywhere near retail for my Panamax units, so they were much cheaper than the Monster ones.

It's not like we are talking about an amp or speakers! If it protects the equipment, conditions the line, and makes sure you get the most out of your system that is all you need:)
