Is there a tivo and vhs vcr combo unit in the market?
 

I like the features of the tivo units for recording but, I also like playing old vhs tapes at the same time. Is there such a unit out in the market with a built in tivo and vhs player? Let me know where it is available if it is.

Ian there is no such beast available, however last summer at some electronic shows in germany, they did preview a Tivo like machine with a Built in DVD-R, which in my idea is a fantastic idea.


I would buy one in a heartbeat. Esp if it is a directivo/dvd-r combo box, that would be ace.

One box to watch tv record to dvd, play dvd's and one box to kill them all or something like that :D
