Technics SS50 or KLH 9930?

need some advice. Looking to get a 3 piece system for about a 100. I think I have got it down to these two but if you have any other ideas please let me know.
Also, I have two front speakers now. Am I going the right way by just adding three? Or should I go a head and get a 5 piece system. My current front speakers are 10 year old KLH speakers (which I like) if that affects your advice.
thanks in advance

That KLH center is brutal. Better to spend $100 on a center speaker (if that is your budget), and maybe add some cheap surrounds for $40-50 a pair if/when you can afford. The center speaker is the most important speaker, so you'll want something quality. The KLH will most likely cause listener fatigue, making it a poor investment at any price.

Nothing wrong with upgrading in stages, but you may find one day that you want to purchase a matched set of speakers. YMMV
