DVD-audio and SACD
 

Are there any DVD players that support both SACD and DVD audio? I would hate to buy one now and upgrade in a couple of years.

However, I've only heard bad things about this player.

In "a couple of years," I'd hope that DVD-A, SACD, and whatever other formats loom in the future will actually be passable via a digital connection.

I guess that Pioneer is also rumored to have a universal player in the works, but (assuming it ever happens) the MSRP will be significantly higher than the Apex player.

The <b>Pioneer DV-AX10</b> has been available for some time now. it plays DVD, DVD-A, SACD, etc. MSRP is..ahem...significantly higher then the Apex, yes. $5,999 to be exact.
This looks to be a fantastic machine and I'm trying to locate a dealer with one in the area to demo it for myself.

I guess I was kinda sorta mildly aware of the DV-AX10, but I was thinking of the rumored DV-47A (that model # is just speculation) that'd be equivalent to a universal player Pioneer's been selling in Europe for a few months, and significantly cheaper than the $6K DV-AX10.

Hope I didn't come off as sounding like <i>"you didn't know about <b>THIS??</b>"</i> or anything in my previous post, just trying to give a heads up.
Anywhere online that has info about the player you mentioned? I'm getting the DVD-A, SACD bug and I'd really hate to have seperate units for every source, you know? (as if my ent. center isn't crowded enough ;))

The European model is the DV-747A, but it's not listed at Pioneer's European site. I couldn't find too much info about it; I guess most people are waiting for January's CES, where they expect Pioneer to announce exactly what they're doing (if anything) for the NA market.

After reading the reviews for the Apex, I don't think I want one. Is there any info about the new Pioneer?

Does anyone here read japanese? I think this is the new player.
