DVD Audio question
Hey all. I just got a new JVC FA90BK DVD Video/Audio player. I cant seem to play the DVD audio. Do I need a DVD Audio capable receiver? Im trying to play it through coaxial output of my receiver

DVD-Audio must be decoded by the player and the analog ouputs from the player must be hooked up to the receiver. You can't pass digital out from the player to the receiver.
The record companies don't want you to do any copying, you know? So they make it as inconvenient as possible to use.

But you are correct. You can't use the digital output. However you can still get the lower quality audio from the disc out that way, just not the full DVD-Audio (the reason you'd buy the disc).

There are no receivers that decode DVD-Audio so in order to use DVD-Audio you must have a DVD player that decodes DVD-Audio and your receiver must have analog 5.1 inputs.
Check the F A Q for more info.
