Progressive Scan DVD w/ Older TV

Friend of mine is looking at getting a progressive scan dvd player but his TV is six years old, he's wondering if it will work. Looks like the hookups match and his old dvd player worked with the tv he has now.

It's a Sanyo, he doesn't have the model. We're at work. It only has coax and the red/white/yellow plugs.

You won't be able to take advantage of the Progressive Scan if you don't have component inputs on your TV. You'll have to use the composite (yellow- video) input, as that's what your friends TV has.

Ok, we knew progressive scan only worked on HDTV's, we were just concerned that it would function as a normal dvd player, which apparently it will. Might all be a mute point, he's looking at new tv's too now. And he's got me wanting one as well.
