Does the Skip Doctor work?

My kids scratched a couple of my dvd's and I need to know if the Skip Doctor (CD, DVD or whatever you call it Doctor) actully works.

I have used a "Disc Fixer" scratch repair kit from Maxell on a CD with success. But I have never had to try it on a DVD. I would guess it would work, although the tracks are closer together on a DVD.
