Questions about sub hookup...

I currently have my sub connected with a single cable that plugs into the receiver, then splits into 2 to plug into the left and right on the sub. This is how I had always thought it had to be done. Then I hear that the sub cable doesn't need to be split into 2, and I could just run a singe cable from the receiver to either the left or right. Is this correct, and if so, is one way perferred over the other? Also, anyone know of a place (B&M or online) that I could pick up a nice sub cable?

Also...what are interconnects???

You are not hurting anything by splitting the cable into the sub but it is designed to go into just one of the inputs. You really only want to use both the left and the right inputs if you don't have a sub out on your receiver. Also it doesn't matter which input you use.

Any B&M like Best Buy/Circuit City will have the cables you need. There are some fancy cables out the like uni-directional cables that are an inch think and made from alloys only found on Neptune but in side by side tests with a good quality 75ohm video cable I couldn't hear any difference, so thats what I use

Interconnects is just another term for the cables you hook everyhing up with...you video and audio cables.
