OPINION: RCA 38" Diagonal HDTV (F38310)

RCA F38310 (MSRP $3000)... has anyone else seen this TV or better yet own it... I saw it a CC and immediately fell in love with it...

I hate projection TVs... but this is a tube and has a wonderful picture...

Opinions? Alternatives?

The hometheaterspot.com site might be helpful. Go the the Manufacturers' Spot and click on RCA / GE / Proscan. Lots of good information, good luck!

The size is nice, but I couldn't get past the curved screen. IMO the smaller (34 inch) Toshiba, Panny, and SharpVision products are superior.

I too saw this set first at CC and was pretty impressed with the quality. I did not think the slightly curved screen detracted anything fromthe picture quality of the set. It is definitely worth a look.

Noticed PrecisionVideo sell's these weekly on ebay for $1925 shipped.

for that price you can get a much better TV. think Pana or Tosh. You can get Toshiba's top of the line HD 4:3 flatscreen for $1600. It's a weird design, anf the curved screen will annoy you,. and for $2000, yopu should NOT be annoyed by anything about your TV.
