Sony Wega Keeps Shutting off
 

Recently my 36 inch xbr sony wega keeps turining off randomly. I could be watching a movie or playing a videogame and the thing just turns off suddenly. When i turn it back on again it might stay on for like 10-20 seconds but eventually turns back off. This is really frustrating, it seems to only do this after the tv has been left on for extended periods. Does anyone know what could cause a problem like this? My first thought was that it was overheating or something, but is that possible? Please reply.

Its no sleep timer or anything, i think ill just have to have someone come round and fix it. Thanks anyway.

I just read a similiar thing while on the Circuit Ciy site reading the reviews on the Panasonic 20" Stereo TV Brand/Model: PAN CT20G6 (I can't directly link to it) but it says things like:

I purchased this brand new Panasonic 20 inch TV on Sep. 21, 2001, manufactured August 2001, chessel no DP359. But the thing is, many wierd things happened during this less than 2 weeks period (October 2). The TV will turn itself back on right after I usethe remote control to turn itself off! This already happened three times, so I begin using the power button to switch off.

I also noticed that some of the complaints I read on this page are problems that I have also had especially the problem with the set turning on mysteriouslyafter I turned it off with the remote.

This TV appeared to have a mind of its own: after being switched off by a remote controller it would turn itself again on. Returned.

The picture on this set is very muddy. And I also had a problem like one of the reviewers, it would turn on after I shut it off. I am returning this tv immediately!

These people make it sound as if their TV is possessed. And no I'm not seriously considering this particular TV, I',m seriously considering the CT-20D11, and there are no reviews for it so I'm looking ath the reviews for this one instead.

Does it feel cold in the room when this happens?
