Touchscreen Remote???
 

I am kinda looking into touchscreen LCD remotes. I don't know hardly anything about them so any info on them and prices would be helpful. Maybe some links. I am looking for one that handle atleast 7 devices. I need macros and it to be backlit. I was also wondering how much more it would be to have one that is voice activated. All of my equipment is SOny except for a Pioneer Receiver. I was really looking at not spending more than $150. Thanks for any help.

Since you have just about all sony, you might want to consider the sony 2100. Costco.com has it for $100. Some other people here might be able where to get it for less.

I have the 2100 and have been very satisfied. It will work right out of the box with almost all Sony equipment, and is pre-programmed for most other brands as well. If for some reason a particular device will not work right out of the box, it is simple to learn new codes. It also has a nice backlit display which is a must in a dark room.

I got mine from www.ecost.com awhile back for about 90 or so dollars. Well worth the purchase in my opinion.

Save your money until you can get a Phillips Pronto

If you need a remote for now get the One For All Cinema 7 for abotu $25.00 - by far the best handheld remote there is

Other than the feel. Is there anything majorly different from the Sony and the Philips. The Sony looks like a really good deal to me.

The Phillips is a much more user tailorable. With the Pronto you can select the graphics etc. each page will contain. The Sony is more static allowing the changing of the names of buttons based on those pre- configured for each button.

That being said, the Sony is a great deal especially at a cost of over half less than the pronto, and will fit into your budget whereas the Pronto will not.

Just to join the throng of the crowd...

I have the previous generation of the Sony, the AV-2000. Absolutely love it.

My system is a mismash of components from Sony, Denon, JVC, Yamaha & Kenwood. I even control my room lights with an IR switch from Lutron.

The 2000 handles them all flawlessly.

A friend of mine just bought the 2100. He likes it, but he is having one particular problem that no one can solve. How does he get the 2100 to control his Sony VCRPlus? He lost the VCR remote, so IR learning is out. And I see on RemoteCentral that others have had this problem, too.

Any suggestions?
