PIP Problems with Sony 36XBR400 and DirecTV

I seem to be having trouble getting the dual picture function on my Sony XBR TV to work. When I switch to this mode (satellite function) and try to change the channel on the highlighted window, it changes the channel on both windows. If I switch over to TV function and try to change the channel on the highlighted window, it kicks me off the the satellite feed...

I'm feeling pretty dumb about this. Anybody else had problems with this? I find it hard to believe that this TV wouldn't be able to handle this...

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's not the TV, it's the satellite. DirecTV can't be used with PIP for the same reason you need two receivers for two rooms. It can't tune to two different channels, regardless of whether the TV is 2-tuner or not.

You'll need a second source, such as DVD, VHS, LD, cable, OTA, etc or even a 2nd Direct TV receiver hooked up the the same TV

I believe the Direct TV receivers with Tivo that let you record one channel and watch another have 2 built in 2 tunners but only charge you as it were 1 receiver, so you may want to look into one of those.

But they only allow you to see one channel at a time. They're incapable of displaying or outputting the two separate sources at once.
