Sony Wega: 27FV16.
I'd like to upgrade that to a larger screen, but that's going to have to wait awhile.

I have a Toshiba 16:9 40" RPTV and a Mitsubishi 4:3 40" CRT. The Toshiba is used strictly for DVD viewing.

27" Wega currently. As soon as I figure out where I am going to move that is going into the bedroom and I am going to buy a 40" or larger widescreen set.

I am my handle.

I picked up a Panasonic CT32D10 (3-Line Digital Comb Filter and Component input) for $500 last year and haven't regretted the decision for a moment.

Looking at similar solutions to avoid spending over a grand (you need to buy a heavy duty TV stand to support the 1 ton Wega TVs)!

Looking at a JVC AV32D302 and a Toshiba 32A41 - Can't find your model Panasonic...

2001 Consumer Report/Guide recommended:
Toshiba: 32A40
Hitachi: 32UXOIS
JVC: AV-32D201
Panasonic: CT32D10

I have a 36" Sony WEGA XBR400, and I love it - I picked it up just as they were rolling out the new 450's, and I'm glad I did What a difference coming off my old 27" Sanyo!!

If you can find one I would highly reccommend it!
And if I remember correctly those tubes were supplied by Toshiba...I have the Toshiba 32AX60 (Cinema Series) due to the current Circuit City quote "There are only rooms too small."

That is because it has been replaced with a 'newer' model that looks the same (to me) and costs about the same too - the CT32D11.

If you shop around you can still find the older model (if you're interested).

Thanks, Cheap-

Reviews on this set are good, but go negative on the speakers/sound. Looksa like a toss up between it and the JVC, at $50 more.

I want the 40" toshiba, or a 55" Mit. HDTV.
Paradigm speakers (a couple others in the running)
prog. scan DVD player, probably a sony

-pedagogue

ps. If my g/f doesn't kill me first for getting the TV

Since August 1st - Toshiba 50H81 16:9 50" HDTV Monitor

Check out my digital pic images (4 webpages) from my 50H81

Page 1 - taken Aug. 2nd., w/less than 10-12 hours of use - consider the pic's right out of the box.
......Performed Video Essentials Calibration after a couple of hours of use
......Used Touch Focus and the consumer menu driven 9-pt. Convergence option.

Page 2 - About 2-weeks later, after I worked up the courage to perform the Service MODE 56-pt. Convergence Process
......Finally verified VE w/AVIA = 0% Red Push!

Page 3 - - About 2-weeks later

Page 4 - Again, about 3-weeks later including images from the new DVD "Spy Kids".

NOTE: These impressive digital images pale when viewing them in person.

Phil
