Onkyo DVD Player
I have an Onkyo surround sound receiver TX-SV717PRO and was thinking about purchasing an Onkyo DVD player since it can use the same remote control. Does anyone have the Onkyo DVD player and if so, how do you like it?

We sell the Onkyo DVD players and have had a lot od success with them. However, stay away from last years models (S535, D501, D601). None of these play CD-R or CD-RW. This may not be an issue for you.
The new S555 is really nice. Not only does it play CD-R and CD-RW, in also plays .MP3 along with CDV. It retails for $299.

Thanks.
Just have to watch my mouth next time, hold my breath, and count to 10.
Hey Frugalfart, try checking the Yahoo.com shopping section for a great price on the Onkyo DVD player.

Why not first, get a remote like a Home Theater Master MX-500 or one of the types of Philips Prontos. That way, you can:
1) Not ever restrict yourself to one type of DVD player, one type of receiver, or any other remote controlled component.
2) Have a great remote that is likely better than one that comes with most components out there.
3) Have the remote outlast your components.

Onkyo makes many different multiple DVD changers, however, I would personally wait until their new line-up comes out soon. None of their current models play CD-R, CD-RW, nor .MP3. I am certain the new disc changers will.
The old models are the D501 and D601, 5 and 6 disc changers. And, as Onkyo Man stated, they also make a 301 disc changer.
