Best DVD players with MP3 and component out

Can you give me some suggestin on which is the best and not that expensive brand-name (none-gereric) DVD player that can read mp3 CD-r/rw and have component video out ( DD5.1 and DTS optical and coax out)?
And also the same question but for multiregion DVD players.
Thank you

I'd say check out the Panasonic RV-31. I've got the RV-30 and I love it.

Apex 600A
Component Out, plays mp3s (even if the mp3 menu system is weak) no optical, but coax out audio. Can easily be Macrovision Free and play discs from all regions. Also has a built-in converter to play both PAL and NTSC discs.

Cost? < $130

They're getting harder to find retail (although they're available on eBay I hear) but can be had at J&R (www.jandr.com) for ~$128 last I read.

ok this is what you do. but the pioneer that just came out. i forget the name of it...it plays everything ...even has an on screen MP3 navigator. has both coaxial and digital out..and best of all, it is progressive scan. i only paid 250 for it and that included tax and shipping. only shitty thing is it is a single disc

 My RV-31 is great. Only optical out, but why would you need both?

Most multi-region players (with PAL to NTSC conversion) tend to be off brands.

skar, baby, this is why you need both. if you use your DVD player as a CD player as well as DVD, you wouldnt want the receiver to read DVD when you are playing a CD , would you (or vice versa). I am anal like that. Anyway, I have the optical line as the DVD and the coaxial digital as the CD. Fabulous, isnt it?

skar...i have a question for you...it may be stupid....on your panasonic, when you play an MP3 disc, how many charaters of the title of the song will it show? My pioneer only shows 6, which absolutely sux

asabase 09-27-01 07:46 PM

Only 6?? And I thought my Apex menu was crappy.

punkass1276 09-27-01 08:01 PM

your apex is crappy asa...mine not only shows the menu on the TV screen, but it also displays the title on the dvd player itself. face it, apex is garbage
