technics sa-dx850 or sa-dx950 which one should i get?

technics sa-dx850 or sa-dx950 which one should i get?

need help, i can't decide which one to get, the 950 is exactly the same as the 850 apart from the 950 is dvd audio ready, it this function worth paying another £60 to £70. ($100 us)

any advice would be welcome.

Any reason why you are buying Technics? I would personally look at low end receivers from Onkyo and Denon instead.

sorry for not saying before, but the reson i am looking at technics stuff is that my compleat system is technices so i want to sick with them.

I agree with skar. Were I in your position I'd look at another manufacturer (Onkyo, Denon, etc)

Just because you have Technics now doesn't mean that you will forever. IMHO, it's a better plan to spend more on a better quality component and start your upgrade.

I'm a Technics owner and I suggest that you also look for something else. Perhaps a lower end Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo.

thanx guys, i would like to get a Yamaha, Denon or Onkyo. because i have seen good review and things but alais they a little out of my price range.

i am looking for something in the region of £250. also if any one has any uk links for prices and things i would be most grateful.

I would think that for 250 pounds you would be able to get an Onkyo 595, for example. You can find them here for about $400 (less if you're willing to go through a non-authorized e-tailer).

From sites I've seen the Onkyo 595 is about 450 pounds. Even the 494 is like 400 pounds. I don't know why Onkyo prices them so much higher over there.

if u think we in the uk are getting shafted by Onkyo prices, don't even look at the yamaha prices.
