Need audio help
I'm an audio/video novice and need some help.
I have the following:
TV- one set of RCA ports
Nintendo 64
DVD player
Direct TV
I finally connected my Nintendo, but now when I have the Cable/TV on, suddenly the left speaker is much, much louder than the right. The stereo is fine with CD, DVD, and the Nintendo.
The stereo is hooked up through the DirectTV, and I didn't change any of those connections. I can only have the DVD player OR the Nintendo on at one time (one video input port).
What did I do, how do I fix it, and are there any other options for the hookups where everything can work smoothly?

What I would recommend is purchasing an A/V switcher. Sony has one for $39 that collects 4 inputs and has 1 output. RCA makes a really nice one for $79 that has 6 inputs and 1 output and works on the remotes. These are all S-video switchers which you probably don't need but might as well get it if you have to have an A/V switcher.
This will allow you to plug in all your sources into the switcher and have one video cable ran to the TV and one set of RCA to the stereo. Very easy way to solve some of your issues.
As far as the sound goes, it sounds like the Cable/Dish has a bad speaker signal output or a bad cable.
Hope this helps.
