Do i buy this stuff or what?

This is what im thinking about getting...let me know what you all think.

Klipsch

(4) RF-3 towers left/right front left/right rear ($275 each)

(1) KSW12 sub ($290)

(1) RC-3 center ($225)

For a total of $1615 before shipping

Than either a onkyo 787 reciever for $787 (before shipping)

or a Denon 3802 for $803

So what do you guys think? Will I be happy with this setup? Could i get a better one? Could I get better prices? As always thanks for your input. And thanks for taking the time from our precious movie watching time to reply.

Thanks again

Looks like you will have a great system.

I have Klipsch speakers and love them. The only thing I can suggest is that you look at the Legends series. They have been discontinued and you can find some incredible deals out there. They are a litte more expensive than the RF3's, but I think they are the best speakers for the money - hands down.

I suggest:

Mains - KLF20's - can get them for around $750/pair
Center KLFC7 - around $350
Surrounds - Either another pair of KLF20's, or cheaper KLF10's ($500/pair) or RS-3's ($350/pair)

Sub - KSW15 - there are better subs out there, but for the money this is good.

I really like the RF3's and you will surely have great sound with 4 of them, I just prefer the Legends series.

For the receiver, I suggest Denon. I have a 2801 and it sounds great with Klipsch speakers.

Visit www.klipsch.com for some good info and a discussion forum on Klipsch speakers.

Whatever you decide on, listen for yourself and get what sounds best to you.

Just curious, did you compare those speakers to any of these
models below? Buying without comparing to some of these
highly-recommended models will prevent an informed buying
decision.

What sources will you be using? HT and Music? What percentage each? What genres of music?

Klipsch speakers are very nice for rock music and loud action movies. For softer, more delicate sounds I recommend looking at PSB, Paradigm, and Mirage speakers. Note: IMO, these speakers also sound great for rock music and loud action movies.

its mostly for HT ...i love to watch movies. But my wife listens to music also. Pop/Dance music. Unfortunately here in montgomery there is hardly anywhere to buy Home Theater stuff. We have basicly Circuit City and Sears. Not to much to choose from. So i dont get to listen or see alot. Or really get to compare much side by side. Are klipsch considered better than Jbl. I have JBL speakers now.

Accurate Audio in Auburn carries PSB.
Cohen's Electronics and Applicances in Montgomery carries Definitive Techonologies.

I would call ahead to make sure they carry the speakers in your price range. I really love PSB speakers and I think they will be well worth the drive.
