Change the receiver to an Onkyo 595 or a Denon 1801.

Can you fit a bigger TV?

Not necessarily, but if you like Pioneer step up to the Elite Series for about the same price.

I like the 38" RCA but I don't like the price. You also have to purchase a stand which bumps up the total price even more. Unless you have space limitations I would look at the new 50" Toshiba or the 47" Panny.

Don't know anything about that Sony DVD player. What about speakers??

I'd look into Yamaha and Denon recievers, with Denon
being preferable (but a bit more $$$).

The Only Reason i picked the Pioneer receiver is because it has 6.1 es/ex and it was cheap for a receiver that gives you those options.

I picked that TV because not only is it a true widescreen tv but it also comes with a HD Directv Receiver built into the tv. So i wouldn't have to waste money on buying a separate directv receiver.

I have an analog ProScan TV, which is the high-end RCA. I must say I was tentative before I bought it, but it kicked ass on all comparable TVs in that price range. I am still amazed at the picture that this thing produces.

The good thing about purchasing the RCA is that in a couple of years you can buy a bigger TV and move the 38" to the bedroom. This way you will have HD in the den and the bedroom.

The RCA feature with the HD Direct TV receiver built in is awesome. My friend picked up the ProScan 55" (I think) and the picture and convenience on that thing is great.

I beleive the Pioneer 810 is one of the models that has the Elite amps in it, the Mosfet amps, but I could be wrong.

Go with a different receiver. At least upgrade to the Pioneer Elite series. Also Take a look at Denon, Onkyo, Marantz and Yamaha.

Sounds like you have everything else in order and the makings of a great system.

So in conclusion...... the Pioneer Receiver is no good?

THe other reason why i picked this receiver was because it was at a great price and it is DTS ES, plus 6.1 inputs. Great Price meaning 400 dollars.

SO THE QUESTION NOW. DROP THE RECEIVER AND RAISE THE BAR ALITTLE BECAUSE I AM ALSO TIGHT ON MONEY.

AS A MATTER OF FACT. IS THE RECEIVER A GOOD RECEIVER OR NOT?

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but I wouldn't necessarily say that the Pioneer is a bad receiver... True, Denon/Onkyo/Yamaha may be a little more polished, but I have been happy with my Pioneer receiver for the past couple of years...

I own a Pioneer Elite and have been very pleased with it. The Elite series has better internal componets, stronger amps, etc. But hey, if you listened to the Pioneer 810 and it sounded good to you, go for it. There is always something bigger and better but you have to draw the line somewhere!

I would get the tv and dvd player--both great choices. I would upgrade the receiver, though. I'd look at Onkyo or Denon. Both very good choices. I like the Onkyo 696 and it is a very good price. I'd look at a good set of HT speakers, too.
