possible dvd player problem, i really have no idea what's going on
 

i have a sony dvd player. dvp-ns400D. but when i'm watching some movies there is a slight pause. but some movies there aren't. like the die hard movies and enemy of the state. but on movies like clerks or mallrats, no pause. is it the action on the dvd or is it a layer change? should it be something that i shoudl exchange? please help me out. thanks, much appreciated

I rarely see the layer change even when I'm looking for it and with some of the posts where they tell you it is located on some DVD's, I still can't see it.

I've tried it on some friends DVD players and you can see it really good. It's worse on others.

Is it the quality of the DVD player that makes them do layer changes better than others?

i like the player. is it something that i should just deal with?

yeah, there's nothing you can really do about it.
I wish that more studios would start timing layer changes to be during fades to black or other scene changes...
