Best DVD Player to BUY ????.....HELP!..

Hi, ilikedvd here. Went to BB and saw a SONY DVP-NS400D player. $239. Did research online and heard that SONY players have a Chroma(?) problem. Found this site , and found this Sony player cheaper. dvdplayer price search.
Now, since i found this player cheaper, could you suggest an even better player around the $250 range? Keep in mind the Chroma stuff, i'd like it to read CD-R,CD-RW, and (not required) built-in DD and DTS. Please help guys. I'd like to get one tommorow or Sat. I am also looking for the right player, heard Sears price matches. Please help.

I got the Panasonic RV31 and I love it.

Component Video Out
It has great quality CD audio playback.
It is very good with troublesome DVD's.
An awesome value at $170.

Where are all the DVD player owners at??

For your price range, I would just get a good Sony or Toshiba for around $200. You will not need built in DD or DTS, because most decent receivers today already come with a built in processor.

If you have an old receiver anyway that does not have DD or DTS, it's unlikely to have the 5 channel inputs.

Ive had a Toshiba for over 2 years and have had no problems whatsoever. Check out www.audioreview.com for consumer reviews.

If you do not need progressive scan, the Pioneer 343 is a fantasic player for around $170. Plays CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, VCD,SVCD. Great picture and sound. It's this year's upgrade to the DV-333. Read the reviews at www.audioreview.com and www.vcdhelp.com.

You may want to consider the Toshiba SD2700.

Please dont' buy a Toshiba... Please.

Go with a Sony or Pioneer. Yo uwon't regret it.

There are 14 reviews at audioreview.com giving the 2700 a 4.57/5.0. Why don't you give us some reasons why you recommend against buying it? If there are good reasons for avoiding the Toshiba, you'd be doing prospective buyers a favor by stating them.

I own a toshiba and have had very good experiences with it. The only knock i have against it (2200, duel disk, i bough it a little over a year ago) is that it didn't read CDR-s (it reads a few, but not many) I think they addressed this issue with the progressive scan Toshibas, not sure about the others.
