Help me feel better about my TV

Okay I just came back from WalMart and saw the 50" Phillips they have there. It has that plastic shield over the front of it so it doesnt appear to be as projection-ish as it is (im assuming thats the reason for it) and even though its Phillips it didnt look all that bad. The price of it was 1299

Now, I have a 35" Sony Trinitron about two years old. I bought it from BB with the service plan. Back then it was 1099 with tax and the plan it came to $1400. Now I know thats more then the TV at WalMart and that tv was rather nice looking (size wise) I would love a tv like that although I dont think it was a true widescreen, but still damn it was big.

I like my Sony but who knwos maybe I coudl sell it and get a bigger tv, even if itwas a projection? What do you think...

btw the link to my Tv is at..

Keep the Sony and save your money for a true widescreen set.

I would keep your Sony untill you can buy a better tv (a widescreen set if you like those are VERY NICE).

I have the TOshiba 40" widescreen and love it.
And I would love the new 50" widescreen that is right now hitting Best Buys across the nation.
The 50" can be had for about $2200 or so and a MUCH better tv than the one you saw at Wal-Mart.

Untill you can afford a bit more I would stick with your Sony.

I agree. The Sony is a nice set. Keep it for a couple of years and buy yourself a nice widescreen HDTV for graduation when the time comes

Yes, keep the Sony and for God's sake never buy electronics at WalMart!
