Should I wait a few days and get the Toshiba 65H81 or get the 65H80 now?
I posted a message on some tips that will help me when I get my Toshiba but I now looked on the site and they have a new model the Toshiba 65H81 and it comes out in August and I was wondering should I wait and get the new model or should I just purchase the 65H80 now? Is the 65H81 better? I have been looking at the specs and it doesn't seem like a huge differnce but yet again i don't know much about this stuff. So help me out. Thanks

It seems likely that if you wait you'll be able to buy the older model for less.
I'd do that. Even if it takes a while for retailers to start to blow them out.

The only thing close that I can find there is the TW65X81 (2000 Model) for 2,698.
Heck, they are still selling the 65H80 (2001) model for 3,299 which is about $800 more than I've seen it elsewhere.
The only 2002 model I can find there is the 50H81 for 2,499.

From what I remember in various discussions, the main diffs. between this year's Tosh and last year's are lighter weight and a narrower cabinet, but there have to be other improvements.
Two things I'm keeping in mind during my WS TV search are that everyone who has the 65H80 raves about it, and that prices are cheap and probably will drop a little more as the 65X81 gets closer to release. The new model will certainly be up in the mid-$3K range, like the 65H80 used to be.
I think if you search more active HT sites, like www.hometheaterspot.com and www.avsforum.com , you'll find some better answers.
Sorry, not much of an answer, but I HTH nonetheless.
