Toshiba Widescreen TV - Best Buy Employee Discount?

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this, so if not, will a moderator kindly move it to the correct one.

I'm shopping for a Widescreen and believe I'll probably go with one of the Toshiba's. Does anyone here work at Best Buy or know what the employee discount would be on the 40", 56" or 60"? I have a nephew that works there, but before I approach him, I wanted to get a feel for the discount and whether it's worth it.

Thanks

Do a search for it in the bargains forum.
I asked the same thing in a thread about "employee discounts"
and a fellow member quoted the price.

I think the 56" was right around $2,100
and 40" was around $1,650 or so.

That sounds more expensive than many online stores. And Toshiba does honor warrenty when buying online.

I've seen the 40H80 for $1550 and the 65H80 for $2450 roughly.

Negative...I found a follow-up thread...the original was deleted, because as the poster explained it, "It got out of hand"?

I used to work at Best Buy...and am actually still in the thick of waiting for my TV. (Been about a month now...)

Well, here it is:

40H80: $1590.79
56H80: $2046.58
65H80: $2388.73

If you can fit the 65" in your house (where you want it), that is the best bargain... Be careful though... the delivery people can be real @$$es about whether they will even try or not...

The other option is the new Toshiba H81 series. They come in 42", 50", 57", and 65" flavors. They have some new features, new technology, and are lighter and less deep than the older models. The 50" is the first due out...any day now. The rest are due out in a couple of months.

Good luck! (You might need it...)
