Component Digital?

is the component inputs on an hdtv digital? or is it analoge?
also does component switching on an Harman Kardon AVR 510 degrade picture quality? if passing an hd signal?

The signal is analog and no the component switching on the receiver should not degrade the signal quality but there is always the possibility of picking up some electrical noise from the receiver but that would be due to build quality of the circuit. In theory there should be no degredation.
