Does anyone know how much retail stores mark up prices on thier electronics
I plan on buyin a Kenwood system, and its retail value is priced at $799 CDN (I Live in Canada)
and a buddy of mine says he might be able to get a deal thru his friend, and he said he could buy it at cost or wholesale.
I was just wondering how much money it would save

It's not the main components that have the highest markup, at least based on %. It's the accessories you'll buy to go along with it. The digital cable, for example, will have a 300% markup. The dvd rack will have a 150% markup. The Kenwood system will probably have a markup just as Nikko described.
Another thing to note is that if you're looking at a 'system', odds are, like with a 'rack system' you see at Best Buy or CC, you're not getting the most for your money anyway. Pick up separates as you see them on sale or off the internet. Also, when you get something through a 'friend of a friend', consider your circumstances if something goes wrong.
