Sony Wega Service Menu

Is there a way to clear the service menu off the screen without turning off the television and then turning it back on? I'm guessing there's not because it's in service "mode" as opposed to just having a menu on screen.
I ask this because I own a 20" Sony Wega(bedroom tv) that doesn't have the 16:9 squeeze as a user menu option, so I have to change the VUSN setting in the service menu. I also watch regular tv on this set, which means going into the service menu to change it back to 4:3.
By the way, I'm not clear on why it's not a user menu option in the first place, especially when it has the ability to do 16:9. I didn't even have to change any other settings. The picture looks great. I don't notice any geometry problems after doing it.
