have pioneer 114 dvd-rom, set on region 2, with ati rage 128...os wind. 98. 2nd ed.
the drive will only play some movies, the ones that wont play, which is most of them, make clicking noises in drive, and windows does not detect these as dvds.
can anyone offer any advice please?????

You might want to try posting this message in the PC DVD-ROM Hardware Forum. You should get better responses there. I imagine it has something to do with your region setting, so you should also mention what discs you are trying to play and what region you live in.

thanks for your advice....wasnt sure where to post.
as for pioneer, have already contacted and received a programme from them which didnt work.
all the discs i have tried are region 2. it would also now appear that just normal cd rom discs are clicking, but these do play.
