My girlfriend and I have a Panasonic DVD-L50D DVD player in our bedroom with a 19" Sony TV. We are looking for a mini-system or something along those lines to basically listen to music (CDs/radio) in our bedroom...but I want to get something that we could hook-up to our TV and DVD player so that we could get some decent surround sound or something in the bedroom. I'm not looking for anything earth shattering...I have a surround sound system in the living room....I just want something that'll provide decent sounds while listening to music or watching movies in the bedroom.

Just get a cheap DPL receiver from ebay or an online store.

Best Buy has/had some decent KLH speakers that I had bought for $20 a pair. I think the model number is 970A or something like that. They come with all the mounting hardware to mount on the walls also and are actually much better than the cheap speakers you would get with a mini system.

You could get a decent receiver and 2 pairs of those for under $200:)

A good reciever for under $200 is the pioneer vsx-d509s, 199 at costco magnificant reciver an has a 4.27 at http://www.audioreview.com which will go up when I review it.

i'd see if anyone is selling/auctioning a gently used Energy Take 5 system and go with a budget receiver.
