I've been having the DVD player for some time and just recently purchased the Kenwood system. The DVD player has a BITSTREAM connection on its rear and I'm really unsure as to where I'm supposed to plug it in on the receiver or what cable to use.

This is what connections I have on the rear of my DVD. This is a different model from the one I have however the connections are identical.

and here's a partial pic of the rear of the receiver...

Is anyone familiar with the BITSTREAM jack and where exactly it needs to be plugged into?

I think you should connect the "BITSTREAM/PCM" output to the digital input marked "DVD" in the image. it is just to the left of the "CD/DVD OPTICAL" input.

Agreed. Does your DVD player have optical out? That might be the better option...

Definately the way to go. My father in law has this exact setup, and that's how we hooked it up.
