i've got an onkyo 301 disc dvd player and the remote isn't working. i've had it for about six months and have had no problems thus far. i've tried new batteries but it didn't help. everyone in the househod said that they didn't drop it or anything. do i need to get a new remote, and if so where should i look. any help would be appreciated.

The first thing you should do is try another remote (universal, learning, borrow someone else's, etc.) and make sure that the IR receive on the dvd player is working.

No need to replace a remote control that's working.

And speaking of that, if you take the Onkyo remote that you have, and get another remote to learn its codes, that's a pretty good indication that it's still working.
