Does anyone know what the exact diffrences between these two models are?

As far as I can tell the only difference is:

HDCD Precision Filtering and Decoding is available on the 2700.

The MSRP difference between the 2 models is only $20.00.
If this is the only difference, what is the point of releasing two different models.

Is the HDCD support worth the extra money?

Which of Toshiba's twin-tray players is newer (2200 or 2150)?
Anyone know of plans to release a newer twin-tray model?

Thanks

2200 is the newer version. I went thru two of these and neither one could handle the component output. Playback produced various lines, blue and red out of focus. Purchased the Sony DVP-360 which does excellent with the component video. And the HDCD feature does provide better audio with a good receiver.
