My Acer 1640a DVD player doesn't read data cd's. Explorer says: CD Audio, and tries to start windows media player.
It makes no difference if the drive is on master or slave. A test in the computershop shows the dvd player is OK. When I start up in MS Dos, I can read the contents of the data cd. I suppose it's a software problem somewhere, and I can't find it. DMA is on. There are no problems in playing DVD's or audio cd's. But because the player is very fast I like to use it for data cd's too. All drivers are now up to date, inclusive firmware of the DVD player My System: P III 450 W98SE, also CD writer SONY CRX 100. Videocard: Asus 6600 Anyone knows how to solve this problem?? |
You might want to try posting your question in the PC & DVD-ROM Hardware Forum since you have a computer-related question. This forum is more for non-computer DVD players and other audio hardware.
