Although I've had good luck so far with mine, JVC's XD701 had many, many problems. JVC's customer service through the situation was (is) absolutely deplorable. They have been completely unwilling to admit that there is a problem with the units, and have left many consumers without players they paid good money for.
That said, I'd think twice about a JVC DVD player if I were you.
