Mystery Criterion DVD Trade Offer

Hi folks, Most of the time I come here to try and trade my stuff and don't get offers for what I am looking for. I realize this is the same for many of us. I also realize I'm not the easiest person to trade with and I do aplogize to any of you that I may have given a hard time to. Anyway it's gotten to the point where trading has become difficult so I want to make it simple. I have got a brand new factory sealed DVD of an out-of-print Criterion Collection title. It cost me $32.99.

I will trade this for the best offer made in this thread... say in the next 48 hours.

The best offer does not have to be something I want or even valuable it simply has to be considered as the best offer.

Any item can be offered, not just dvds. However I won't sell it.

Thanks!

Congratulations Samuel!
You've brought a whole new level of weirdness to DVDTalk.
Trading a movie we're not sure if we even want, because you won't tell us what it is.
I'm sure the freaks around here will eat it up though!
OOP Criterion are the magic words.
Good luck with your game!

I'll bite. Here's my offer:

Fast Times at Ridgemont High (OOP CE, WS)
Traffic (USA Home Entertainment)
The Whole Ten Yards (FS, [I know, eewww])
Rear Window (Hitchcock Collection CE, WS)
Edit: And I'll throw in $0.07
Edit 2: Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow - Best Buy Preview Disc
Edit 2: Plan 9 From Outer Space

Condition: All are in tip-top shape (no wear on coverart, no scratches on discs). Traffic, Fast Times, and Rear Window each contain their respective inserts. The Whole Ten Yards is a snapper, so no insert there.

Condition of Edit 1: One of the pennies is in beautiful condition. The nickle is in decent condition...and the final penny is very aged and shows quite a bit of wear.

Condition of Edit 2: Sky Captain disc comes in the cardboard sleeve. Plan 9 was purchased used for a dollar, and for some reason the coverart has a black sharpie "X" on the back cover. The disc itself is in fine condition, and the coverart can be replaced. No insert in this one.

Oh, and I'd send first, naturally.

-JP

This sounds like fun so I'll bite. Pick any three of these DVDs. They seem to be somewhat untradeable. Enjoy your game.

As an added bonus to the offer above, I will put this caption in my signature.
"Samuel is my hero. He gives me the strength to go on each day."
Or something to that effect. We can work it out.

Want to give us a hint as to what you'd be interested in? A genre or some titles? Who's in the lead so far?

Wow, I didn't expect to get such great offers.

This Criterion isn't currently a major player on the collector's scene but will be eventually. Also and I should have stated this earlier but I didn't realize until doing a search that this DVD is still in stock at a few online retailers. I bought this back in October at Bestbuy . If anyone wants to walk away now it's cool.

My main interests are Westerns and horror/sci-fi. Most of the things I want aren't on DVD yet. I don't want anyone adding more titles to one-up someone else so I'll refrain from saying who is in the lead.

Thanks guys!

I know you'll never take me up on this, and I may have already had or still have whatever you're offering, but I just can't resist......

I'll offer you my entire collection of Dollar Store DVDs........I'll do like you've done and not say how many........You have no idea how MANY I just may have or how little I can resist purchasing a decent film for such a cheap price.....I'd like to think I'm pretty selective in my titles even for cheaper films.........

Anyway, that's it...A MYSTERY FOR A MYSTERY.................It's DVDTALK VEGAS...WHO's BLUFFING?

In all fairness you did say that you paid $32.99 for it, so I will at least say my offer will not be Horribly Horribly uneven...but then equality does depend on Point of View. So let me just say......"Did I spend $5 or $500...to tell you the truth I lost count myself, but this kind of investment can put a hole right thru a man's wallet at 100 yards away. So really you have to ask yourself one question. Do you feel lucky?"

I will send you "10" mystery dvds...That is 10 times the mystery and pleasure.
Just imagine the anticipation of waiting to see what you will receive.
These are all sealed and bound to wind up here on dvd talk for trade for you to begin cycle again...... .

I'll make this easy, and give you nothing. This way you won't have to worry about me 'selling out' on my end of the deal and not sending stuff to you. There will be noasted paper or boxes for mailing materials on my end, everyone wins.
