magic..and some patience. Seriously you have to be patient going in and out, adding and subtracting items from cart to get it to stick. It's quite annoying but pays off.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

This is the second time I used the 801490 code in the same account and I picked up inception (BR) and two free dvds with FS. After I used 801490 the first time a few days ago it wouldn't let me use it again the same day. But was it worked today and I was able to get FS

I'll probably need to create a new account to use it again. I have one TV and one DVD account and I used the 801490 code on both back in the summer-June and July. Now all I get is "Promotion is Expired".

I was able to get free shipping on the "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete Series" boxset, which makes it $21 cheaper than Amazon.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Well today I discovered something on the 801490 code. It does not seem to work at all on the TV accounts when you want to get FREE shipping as well. It works but you get hit for the shipping fees.

801490 works great on a regular account with Free Shipping though as I signed up a new account today and got 7 for $13 shipped then turned around and placed 2 orders with 801490 and got a BR in each order and 2 more DVDs in each order. Brings the haul to $55 and change for 2 BRs and 11 DVDs (all of the DVDs are gifts). Makes it $4.23 per title and I can't complain about that considering the 2 BRs were preorders and you won't find them for less than $20 in stores at the moment.

I just wish it worked with FREE shipping on the TV account as I would love to get that one fulfilled and be done with it.

Place the order with the shipping charges. Then use the Contact Us link and tell them that you just noticed that you were charged for shipping when your account has a free shipping promotion and that you would appreciate a refund for the shipping charges. I have never been denied when requesting a refund for shipping charges. Just be clear with what you want done and be polite and I'm sure that you'll get the refund as well.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Do bonus points take a while to show up after ordering? I had 4 before I just placed an order and it told me I earned 4 more, but my balance is still 4.

Also, can someone explain exactly how these work to me? If I want to use them towards, say, a Blu-ray that costs $16.17, I need 17 points to redeem it? Meaning, I can't use some points towards a movie and pay for the rest?

1) logout and log back in.. that usually will update to latest points....

2) Yes, your bonus points are kaka unless they exceed the price of what you are buying...

1. I could be mistaken but I don't believe you get the points until you are charged/the items ship.

2. The amount of points required is based on the Club Price, not the Sale Price. If the Blu-ray Sale Price is 16.17 but the Club Price is 26.95 you must have 27 points to buy the item with your points. And you cannot use points plus money to get an item. So if you want to redeem points, you must have enough to over the Club Price.

That is true. I have enough on order right now to qualify for a free $20 title. However, if they go to this "Back-ordered" shite past 12/31, I am hosed.

CH will then know the full wrath of BuckNaked2k.

I must be fortunate.. My points appear after I place the order. I have had to log out / log in before .. but always after the order.. Never had to wait until an item ships.. workded that way with my recent order as well...

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Thanks for all the information here.

I basically opened a new account and this is the tally:

Touch of Evil (Anniversary), Sunset Boulevard (Legacy), Secret of Kells, End of the Line, Easy Virtue, Baader Meinhof Complex (2Disc), Ferngully (2Disc), Step Brothers (2Disc), Secret in Their Eyes, The White Ribbon (Blu), To Kill a Mockingbird (Legacy), There Will Be Blood (2Disc), The Box (Blu) = $58

Hopefully they won't reject my account!

^

FYI, CH still has the glitch where the freebie title of a BOGO order counts as a fulfillment as long as it has a regular price of $19.95 or higher and ships out at the same time as the paid title. In other words, you only need to make one 801490 order and it will fulfill your obligation as long as everything ships at the same time.

This did not happen for me. Perhaps this is because the ordered title was a pre-order, the inception combo. The three items shipped last week, and I show only one credited towards my obligation. FWIW.

Thanks SBJ for the info. I emailed them about my $6.97 shipping charge about an hour ago and got the email saying they were going to refund 25 minutes later. I about shit my pants. That was the quickest they have ever responded to me.
