Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I was trying to buy one of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection sets that are priced at $38.97 (after 40% off sets promotion). But it is not giving me free shipping even though order total is more than $35.

Also, it seems the 2 free selections for the 801490 B1G2 code cannot be sets? Tried to add Peanuts Collections Vol 1 and 2 sets that are priced at $17.97 (after 40% off sets promotion) and I could not get these as free selections.

^Sets do not qualify *for* free shipping (unless it's a somewhat rare "free shipping on sets" sale) but can *trigger* free shipping for the other DVDs in your order as long as those selections are not considered sets. You can find a few exceptions to this. Some selections considered "sets" will get FS and some that are *not* sets will not. There's no rhyme or reason to these oddball selections. A current one is "Shaun the Sheep" Season 1 which qualifies for free shipping even though it's considered a "set" on other criteria (can't be taken as a free selection).

Sets can *not* be taken as free selections.

Both statements are SOP for CH.

In your case, put 2 "regular" DVDs in your cart (higher priced selections highly recommended - Criterions if you have interest in those) and you'll only pay shipping on the LTGC.

It will never allow sets as the freebie and almost never Blu Rays.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Is there anyway to get more than 2 freebies if I place more than 1 item at $19.95? I thought that putting 2 items at 19.95 would get me four freebies, but it doesn't work.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

No, I tried that and it seems to be one time offer (trying to place another order afterwards generated a "promotion is expired" message).

I ended up buying Star Wars Clone Wars Season 2 BLU-RAY (perfectly priced at $35.97) and was able to get free shipping to work. I didn't try it until my code expired, but Dollhouse Season 2 BLU-RAY appears similarly priced if you have interest and want to give it a try.......

The best $36 that you'll ever spend. I put in one more order on a different account-

Inception Blu-ray $21.57
Caddyshack Blu-ray $14.97
Hangover Extreme Edition FREE
Predators FREE

Total $36.54

I'll keep the two Blu-rays and give the other two away for Xmas. This is a good time of the year for SD DVDs. They make great stocking stuffers.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

If I was to order Scott Pilgrim and Inception Blus would I have to wait to Inception to be released in December for the order to ship?

^Probably not. Columbia House usually ships pre-orders as they are released and doesn't hold them for the last one in the order. But one never knows with CH.

If Scott Pilgrim was free, then you would have to wait until December. Since you're getting the Blu-ray of Scott Pilgrim and will be charged for it, they will ship that title out right away.

Thanks for this one! I used it to fulfill another account.

When you posted it my first thought was: ??!??!!?? - this'll never work... it's the wrong format! BUT I tried it anyway to find out it's good! Nice surprise!

Even though the codes are not as good as in the past I've still managed to cycle accounts with a ~$4.80/DVD average as in the past and pick up some TVonDVD cheaper than sale prices at the same time. Not being ready for or interested in Blu-ray is a major factor in my case.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Just saw this, thanks all for the details. Looks like stacking with free shipping and 801490 is dead for me on an unfulfilled account. Can anyone still get that stacking to work?

Also, aliens BD seems to be mismarked in the system as a single disc, not a set, since it still comes up as $2.99 shipping. This I think is WHY it WAS free shipping eligible earlier.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Haven't posted here in a long time, CH is so lame now, at least there is some action here right now...but

I'm not getting free shipping to stack with 801490, using some of the examples above. Is it still working for anyone?

^Oh well, guess I'll have to wait another 6 months and hope something else semi-good comes along.

Your wait is over.

I just received an e-mail(It's On! The Holiday Shopping Season Starts Now) that offers free shipping, no minimum. The code is 20101103DVDIOPT1D. If you click through the e-mail, this offer will already be loaded. You can then do the 801490 promotion and the free shipping will stack. No need to bump your order up to $35.

Since all of my accounts are already fulfilled, I signed up for a DVD account with the 6 DVDs for $2.94 with 3 to buy offer. Duel & Shaolin Prince were two of my enrollments. I then ordered Inception with two other titles as a fulfillment order. Hopefully the glitch still exists where the two free titles count as fulfillments and I'll already be done with this account.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I decide to sign up for a TV account and do the same. (two Star Trek seasons)

Sets are giving free shipping too, so you could get something like Human Target for $24, The League (Blu) for 20.97, etc...

Pardon my questions here, but I've been out of the CH game for about a year now. What is the current best enrollment online code to get a 6 + 3 offer like the one you just signed up for? How long does it usually take now for them to provide you with a membership number so you can make your first fulfillment purchase? You say above that Duel & Shaolin Prince were your two enrollments, and then you ordered Inception with two (free?) titles as fulfillments--my question is, how soon after you enrolled online were you able to make that Inception fulfillment purchase? My concern here is that the "glitch" everyone is talking about, as well as the current free shipping deal, will be expired by the time I'm able to make my first fulfillment purchase(s).

Immediately after signing up you have the chance to 'continue shopping' now.

Got it. But what is currently the best active online enrollment code? I searched through that thread but couldn't find one that popped out at me
