They must have caught that and fixed it. I tried to get friday 13th and history of violence and it wouldn't work. It works only as a qualifier.

Good lord, 15 orders? I thought I had gone overboard by placing six orders for a total of 14 titles.

Yeah, right. My wallet is crawling away from my desktop, cursing this forum's name. I won't share the language, but it goes something like this:

DVD P: "What was that, Wallet?"
Wallet: "Yeah, you heard me. The one Goddamn time you venture into the ^&(& (*& )(&@#@)* ))@*(_$(!!!! (*)(* #$$#$_((*&*(&)(* forum and you're spending MORE (*&()&* @#$$^&)(& )(*$()*#)* Y%$(&%($&% on top of what you got at that Amazon $100 OFF 10 sale."

Just don't become an anime fan or you'll really be a goner! BTW, the codes are now DEAD on my accounts. I hope everybody got their orders placed in time.

I had an "Anime Stint" earlier this year and last year. Wasn't pretty, either. Thanks to everybody who gave a heads-up on the other forums.

I placed orders totaling 20 titles and thought that was too much. Anyway, this makes me feel slightly better.

She's dead, Jim. I was gonna place another order or two, but in a way I'm glad it's dead. But I hope it comes back after Death Proof and Planet Terror are out. I really wanted those as freebies...

This might be the first time I've shown restraint, ever.

I was about to order 12 or so blu-rays, but then looked at my unwatched pile (more a mountain actually), and logged out.

I'll cycle to a new account and wait for the next one.

That's why I subscribe to the forum and get one email a day with all the new thread titles.

Much less likely to miss a deal like this now.

I had to show some restraint as well - I have a growing unwatched pile. But I couldn't pass on Dark Knight and Iron Man. I just bought a new tv, and need to get my own blu ray player (most likely the deal for the panny on amazon) and a new receiver.

I was going to get just TDK, but then saw that some retailers have exclusive versions of it, so decided to get it there instead.

This will sound sadder than it is, but figuring out that you could subscribe to forums and subforums changed my life.

I used to miss threads all the time. Skip checking a forum for a day or even less sometimes, and a thread could slip off page one and never be seen again, unless you spend even more time checking beyond page one of every subforum.

But now that I subscribe to each subforum that interests me, I never miss a thread, and have less of a chance of missing those short term bargains/glitches.

It's just one (nicely formatted and linked) email per day.

I'm half-proud and half-disappointed in myself. Half of me thinks I should have ordered more (picked up Dark Knight and Into the Wild and scored Home Alone and Harry Potter: GOB for free) but there just weren't many freebies left that I wanted -- it was all pre-orders that don't hit until Jan/Feb that I wanted for the most part. I hope they have another one in February... I will go hog wild then.

I've subscribed to a thread in the past but I now use a different technique to keep track of the various threads of interest to me: I just search my user name each day and I get an ordered list of all threads I have posted in that shows which have new posts since my last visit. That way I can keep track of occasional posts in threads away from the two forums I usually frequent (one of which is this one, of course). But your technique is more effective for spotting new threads of interest in a forum that one doesn't visit very often.

Only placed one order ...

Step Brothers $32.96
Shrek the Third $22.46
Hellboy II FREE
L.A. Confidential FREE

Total $55.42

I know that Step Brothers is probably overpriced, but my wife really wants to see it.

I would have gotten more, specifically TDK, Incredible Hulk and Tropic Thunder, but those were all on the Xmas list.

A chunk of my 15 orders (paid titles) are those that come out in January and February and are titles that I would have went to a B&M and bought anyways (plus tax). So in this case I felt that it was in my and my wallets best interest to order now and pay later (mostly) and get more in return. I basically blew my Blu-Ray budget for the next few months but my shelves will certainly be full.

I just got Back Order Notifications from them, indicating that Blade Runner, The Day the Earth Stood Still and X-Files: I Want to Believe are temporarily out of stock.

I was really looking forward to the Blade Runner too. Hope its not a long delay.

They just added Donnie Darko two days late and a dollar short. We'll have to wait for the next go 'round.

Anyone happen to keep their membership from the CYCD days?

Anyone happen to have an unopened DVD or two from that deal.

This is a good signal the BluRay prices will fall. It is also a signal (based on my restraint of only purchasing 6 titles) that BluRay releases better have signifcant quality/features reason for me to re-buy any titles. As I was looking for more deals I found myself looking at movies I already had on DVD. Some of the bluray discs, like T2 are only slightly better than the DVD from what I have read.
