B1G1 on Blu-Rays

Thought this deserved its own thread. Site-wide B1G1 on Blu-Rays. Can anyone find a code to stack with this? Could really use a free shipping or 10% off code...

Kicker_of_Elves 09-15-08 09:49 AM

Whoo Hoo!

Brent L 09-15-08 11:08 AM

I went ahead and placed an order for Transformers and Iron Man since even with shipping and tax it's cheaper than I'd be able to get them anywhere else, including in a 20% off deal at DD or DVDPlanet, or other such things.

I may hold off on placing any other orders in hopes of a free shipping code though.

Here I am with almost $1k in DVDPlanet credit and I'm still buying stuff just because it's technically "less" in terms of cost, credit not included.

fryinpan1 09-15-08 11:40 AM

A code would have been better, but I went ahead and ordered The Fall and Iron Man for $34.94.

shadow32 09-15-08 12:40 PM

Picked up Iron Man and Transformers. Thanks for the heads up OP.

Cedrock 09-15-08 12:46 PM

25th.

GenPion 09-15-08 02:32 PM

I can't decide on whether or not to place an order. Is $17.87 a good average on a bunch of Blu-ray's I want (three of which are Pre-Order must have titles)? I mean - it's the lowest prices I've seen for any of these titles yet (with one exception on a title I could get used for around $15). I dunno what to do though. I've been averaging out at $11.50 a Blu-ray (and good titles, too) so this seems like a bit much compared to usual. I want to place an order though...

Darn you Columbia House! Where's the free shipping when you need it?

SoSpacey 09-15-08 03:05 PM

So if i dont have a membership and want to join....

Is BluRay membership a separate membership or does it fall under the same DVD club membership?

Can BluRay be used for enrollment titles?

Falls under a regular membership.
BR titles can not be had for enrollments.

After you click the banner it says so at the bottom of the page. The strange thing is that sometimes the expiration date says 9/25 and sometimes 9/27. Either way, you'd have to think a free shipping code will pop up within the next 10 days...

Sweet Baby James 09-15-08 03:25 PM

^

It also states the 25th as the expiration in my email-

I didn't mind buy 2 (for an average of $17+ each) because it knocked out one of my fulfillments. I'll probably hold out for free shipping before I make my next order and the B1G1F dies.

Unless things changed, they can be picked for enrollment using a code you give when you call in. There should be a thread around here somewhere with all of the information.

Well ya, I actually started that thread. ...but the overall "deal" from that membership is not very good, and who knows if the code even still works.

Pookymeister 09-15-08 08:12 PM

Free shipping code will sell me on this - hopefully something pops up

Yes the Blu Ray code still works. It is BLW you have to call in too. I got it 3 blu rays for $4.99 and 3 more in 2 years. This bogo will take care of that easily.

Copper Blue 09-16-08 08:13 AM

A bunch of good titles added just in time for this, including Shawshank, 1408 and The Mist. Man where is that free shipping code!?!?!?!

Sweet Baby James 09-16-08 08:18 AM

Thanks for the heads-up on the new titles. Oh jester, won't you fetch me a free shipping code?:)

Sweet Baby James 09-16-08 08:28 AM

I just threw Speed Racer and The Mist in my cart and The Mist was free despite being a pre-order. I'm tempted to grab this duo at $35. Come on CH, make with a free shipping code.

Overpar 09-16-08 09:42 AM

I'm getting Kung Fu Panda free with funcash and free shipping!

Drama King 09-16-08 10:54 AM

Good Spot.

I just trhew Kung Fu Panda in with Iron Man and Love Guru for 34 bucks that is a nice 11 dollar avg on blu

homern3d 09-16-08 11:02 AM

Woo! Free Kung Fu Panda Blu. :)

Brent L 09-16-08 11:04 AM

I can't even get the Blu-ray for KFP to show up. I can add the DVD, but I can't go to the item page for either one, and can't add the Blu-ray version since I can't go to the item page.

Help?

Drama King 09-16-08 11:07 AM

go to blu rays then a-z and sort by most recent

DarthScooby 09-16-08 11:09 AM

I did this with Kung Fu Panda last night. Showed free with Iron Man and Transformers.

As of today it's still showing free in my order status.

Brent L 09-16-08 11:09 AM

Ugh, I'm a goober, thanks.

DVDGamer 09-16-08 11:59 AM

Iron Man, Kung Fu Panda, and Forbidden Kingdom, all Blu for $34.94. I must say this is better than free shipping! Thanks!

DarthScooby 09-16-08 12:09 PM

Looks like they pulled Kung Fu Panda.

Hope they don't cancel our orders now that they realized the error.

Just checked my order status and it shows processed at the free price.

3 mins later:
Just checked again and it's back....HURRY!

Drama King 09-16-08 12:47 PM

It's working as of 5 seconds ago. My exact steps were

click on banner
adjust to 100 per page
sort A-Z
sort most recent....

good luck!!!!

toldawg128 09-16-08 12:50 PM

I just ordered Kung Fu Panda by itself. Total: $0.00 LOL!

What are the chances we actually get this?

I've gotten lots of free movies from CH because of their screw-ups.

Yeah I noticed that too. I was gonna place another order for a free one at 0.00 but I don't want to chance my original order getting flagged.

Hope we get this.

jiggyblau 09-16-08 01:24 PM

Well I bit the bullet despite the $9 shipping to get There Will Be Blood, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Kung Fu Panda, Iron Man, and Harry Potter 5 all on blu-ray for $72 shipped. It's my first order with CH in years. Seems like a great deal with that extra free one (Kung Fu Panda) thrown in there.

kyle 09-16-08 01:39 PM

Excellent--thanks--hopefully it will go through. Have people got these "free with funcash" ones in the past, or do they just cancel the orders?
